Advice and Suggestions?
I've been thinking about Callahan's Amber and am thinking that Punday Night will be the best way to go. The problems that I'm running into are thus:
1) Can I make a punning contest last for 5 hours? I really wanted to run it in Slot 8 because it's a social game and, as I've found out in the past, games that require very little thought and lots of opportunity for fun are the best for the final slots of the con.
2) If not, what else can I add into it to make it last that long? Start with a small riddle contest? Something else? I'm really not sure.
3) What will be the best way to pull Amber into it?
I know I'll figure it all out by the time the game comes around, but I'm also incredibly open to any advice or suggestions that anyone might have. I'm still pretty new at all these GMing things.

Falling behind
I've been getting fairly behind in my games as well as my looking for new games of late, not to mention keeping things like this blog and my LJ updated. I did some serious hurt to my back a week ago and have been laid up in bed since. Having the laptop, I would have thought it would give me plenty of time to play catch-up with things, but the laptop is pretty heavy and I can't spend as much time on it as I would like.
I'm still trying to come up with the best way to run Callahan's Amber for ACUS this year. Rich, rightly, pointed out that a Tall Tales game has been done recently, so that should be out. I'm thinking of some kind of punning contest, but again, I'm not sure. I haven't been able to get my GURPS Callahan's book out of the gaming closet to get some ideas. I keep forgetting to ask Rich to get it for me.
Once I'm back to "normal", I also need to make a big push to get Season's of Mist back into action. I'm still down two players (and need to check with the two that have expressed interest) and two of my players are waiting on me. I think the other two can go off on their own. There are so many things I want to do for this game - a website, regular updates, a twiki... just so many things. Like everything else, I just don't have the time.
And now the laptop is getting heavy. Time to rest once more.

Gaming at Ambercon
AmberCon's game submission page is up. So now I'm trying to think of what specifically I want to run. I know that I want to run Callahan's Amber, but I need to plan it a bit better. The only things I know at the moment are that it's going to be more of a social game than a plot driven game (I'm thinking of running it in slot 8) and that it will have either Amber-based characters in Callahan's or a mixture of Amber & Callahan's characters. There are a few possibilities that are running through my mind for it - a punning contest, a tall-tales punner contest, something that involves toasts... I'm not completely certain (though I'm always open to ideas).
Another possibility is running In Her Shoes again. Rich isn't sure if he wants to run while he's there or not. If he doesn't (and I decide that I want to run it again), Paul said he'd run it with me. I don't think I'd be brave enough to run it myself. I'm not quite secure enough in my ability to run something yet so I need a co-GM for it.
I haven't come up with any other good ideas for games yet. I wouldn't mind running another game or two, it's just finding something that's going to tickle my brain enough to bring forth an idea.
